Richard Dawkins wants to fight Islamism with erotica. Celebrity atheism has lost it

A tweet from Richard Dawkins' account suggests beaming porn all over the Middle East. And Stephen Fry is angry with God. Who cares anymore?

Richard Dawkins’ insanity has now become an English institution – like warm beer and rain. On Saturday morning, a tweet from his account asked why we don’t send lots of "erotic videos" to theocracies, adding that it should be “loving, gentle, woman-respecting” (I guess this involves the pizza delivery boy calling the next day). If we’re going down this road, I also hear that Islamists aren’t very keen on bacon, so perhaps we should bombard the Iranian countryside with pig carcasses? Also, miniature bottles of gin. And photos of hot guys making out – in a “men-respecting” and “gentle” sort of way.

After a few minutes of mockery, the tweet was deleted. Perhaps even he realised how utterly mad it was. Which suggests a degree of self-awareness that I didn’t think possible in Britain’s nuttiest professor.

Time was when it looked like Dawkins was about to go the full "nut-job 180" and declare that, upon reflection, there actually is a God and it’s Richard Dawkins – and have himself blasted into space on the back of a dolphin singing Onward Christian Soldiers. As you can tell, I’ve come to regard Dick with a great deal of affection. He’s just a mad uncle – a genius academic with monomania who probably isn’t a bad person just a rather naïve one. And his capacity for dreaming up new ways to irritate the religious is, at least, not boring.

The same, alas, cannot be said of Stephen Fry. When asked by the great Gay Byrne on Irish telly what he would say to God if he met him, super atheist Fry had this response: “I’ll say: bone cancer in children, what’s that about? How dare you how dare you create a world where there is such misery that’s not our fault? It’s utterly, utterly evil. Why should I respect a capricious, mean-minded, stupid god who creates a world which is so full of injustice and pain?” He went on to say that he much prefers the Greek gods.

Saying that you prefer the Greek gods to the Christian one is akin to screaming “I did classics at school!” and is really just showing off. It’s also morally corrupt, because the Greek gods rather liked raping and murdering – and were often immune to human pleas for compassion. Moreover, Fry’s central point, that a God who is all-powerful yet does nothing about suffering must be cruel, is – sigh – rather passé.

Not only has theology dedicated itself for thousands of years to unpicking that problem but the answer to it is there in the very Bible itself. Since Adam and Eve ate the apple, we’ve been living in a fallen world full of pain. God granted us free will not only to do bad things but also good things – like finding a cure for cancer or caring for those dying from it.

Terrible things happen because of a) random acts of nature, b) the intervention of the Devil or c) the corruption of man. I’m not saying anyone has to believe what I write, but please don’t act like it’s never been said before or that the answer to Fry’s facile question doesn’t exist. Dear Stephen imagines that he’s the first person in history to wonder why folks suffer. He’s not. He is, however, strangely upset about something that he doesn't even believe in. Who gets angry about an imaginary conversation?

Ultimately, I don’t care that Fry doesn’t believe in God or that he spouts off about it at every given opportunity like a crazy man on a bus. What irritates me is that his remarks are reported as though they are important. He’s not Oscar Wilde (who died a Catholic). He’s not even Benny Hill (who was funny). Celebrity atheism was a big thing ten years ago but now is old hat and rather tiresome. Oh, there are atheist thinkers out there whose opinions are worth hearing and there are eloquent people of faith ready to respond. But why must it always be the same old bores boring on about the subject? This yawnfest has to stop.

Top 10 Big Problems in Apple watch

Top 10 Big Problems in Apple watch
Apple watch, when first unveiled by company, really surprised the world with innovation. Mostly praised it but. Unfortunately, many problems arises that decreases market share. Here we are discussing about some of these.
1. Complicated.
There are too many ways to customize the watch and sometime people get irritated when they have to use many option to reach to the desire apps. Matt rosoff pointed it to be the major barrior and it was his opinion that the product launched by every brand must need to be demonstrated by the company, how it operates, so it is the responsibility of company to explain different models to the customer.
2. Digital crown
Another big problem in apple watch is this that its crown is little bit confusing, some time we forget to know, how to operate it, sometime we want to do other but result is opposite. As there is a digital crown and button so customer remain in confused state that which button is used to reach to the home screen and on how to close the application .I am as well get confused in both of these buttons. So I also get irritated .And professionals , when on the duty don’t have enough time to waste it on these clumsy things they will ignored buying it.
3. It’s clunky
Notes by Farhad manjoo that apple in this time wants to get to the watch that fits to the new style in the world but it failed to do so because it has already been mark by Cupertino. It face looks chunky with high end band so the impression got down.
4. Battery life
A serious issue in apple brand is battery life .that’s why it is neglected by mostly professionals.
5. How to use touch in that tiny screen.
Apple paid much stressed on the screen but in my point of view I don’t think so that it will be useful to use touch in this tiny screen.
6. IOS update.
IOS is creating many issues like unable to connect to Wi-Fi properly, Battery drainage and I messages not sending. Many users were annoyed on this because it is unable to uninstall IOS from Apple watch. Apple release it to fix numerous issues in software’s but still it is creating many problem for the people.
7. Design
Apple watch design is so similar to mostly low quality brand so why customer will spend dollars to buy this trendy watch is big question from the apple company. And why they will spend on having a function of measuring heartbeat rate from a watch. Its look awkward.
8. Privacy
All of your iPhone notifications are visible for all and sundry to see on your wrist: learn to use those privacy settings fast.
9. No GPS or mobile service:
You will need to pair this watch with an iPhone to access location tracking and internet services, like email
These are my views about apple watch and according to my analysis ,it will be better for you do read this before going to make any decision , to prevent yourself from spending of your precious money on things that are useless for you.

Are oil producers running out of closet space?

Oil supply running ahead of demand hasn't just pressured prices, it's also filling up storage space, potentially pushing crude toward another leg down.
"If you run out of space, prices tend to react a lot more violently to adjust that supply and demand imbalance and that's what we expect over the next few weeks," he said, forecasting both WTI and Brent will fall toward $30 a barrel. Prices settled at $50.99 and $61.97, respectively, on Wednesday."We're going to see pretty fast inventory builds over the next few weeks," Francisco Blanch, head of commodity research at Bank of America-Merrill Lynch, told CNBC Wednesday, noting that global supply is running around 1.4 million barrels a day above demand.
Read More Oil may fall again ... but buy energy stocks?
He cited fresh American Petroleum Institute (API) data which showed U.S. crude inventories climbed by a larger-than-expected 8.9 million barrels in the week ended Feb. 20, for a total of around 437 million barrels squirreled away. Around 50 million to 100 million barrels of crude oil may be gathering dust in floating storage by the end of the second quarter, compared with around 110 million barrels in April 2009, during the global financial crisis, he estimated.

The supply build isn't helped by an oil market that's in contango, or when the "spot" price is lower than the price of the future contract. That makes it more profitable for traders to stick their oil in storage to sell at a higher price later.
As much as 80 percent of the commercially available storage in the U.S. may already be utilized, Premasish Das, downstream analyst at IHS Energy Insight, told CNBC last week.
"As the oversupply increases again in the second quarter, the contango structure will widen. This will further incentivize crude storage," Das said.
Others are also concerned about how quickly space could run out. "Within around two months, [onshore storage will] be completely exhausted," Ivan Szapakowski, a commodity strategist at Citigroup, told CNBC last week. "The only remaining storage globally will then be floating storage, tankers."

Citigroup is forecasting oil prices to fall toward $20 a barrel before recovering.
Oil is already getting stashed offshore. Tanker prices and lease rates have doubled over the past 18 months, Gaurav Sodhi, a resources analyst at Intelligent Investor, told CNBC last week.
"Clearly, someone is going out there and leasing a lot of offshore storage and those lease rates are much higher. That suggests to me that there's a massive supply of oil sitting on the ocean," Sodhi said, noting each tanker can hold around 1 million to 2 million barrels each. "That sort of storage is going to take a while to unwind."
Stashing oil offshore can also create other headaches. It's harder to move the oil to where the buyer may want it and there can be issues with pollution, potentially making it more costly, IHS' Das noted.

But despite the difficulties, the oil hoard may only grow in the near term. Das noted that Asia is heading toward its refinery maintenance shutdown period in the second quarter.
Additionally, a strike among refinery workers in the U.S. is now into its fourth week, affecting plants responsible for around 20 percent of the country's production. Media reports said no talks between unions and management are scheduled for this week. If demand from the affected refineries declines further, it could be more bad news for inventory growth and prices.

Austria passes law on Islam, banning foreign funding

Vienna (AFP) - Austria's parliament on Wednesday passed a law banning foreign sources of financing to Muslim organisations and requiring imams to be able to speak German, in a move closely watched by other European nations facing growing problems with radical Islam.

The new law aims to promote what conservative Integration Minister Sebastian Kurz calls an "Islam of European character" by muting the influence of foreign Muslim nations, organisations and funding at a time when concerns are rising about the spread of extremist Islam.
The legislation also offers Austrian Muslims a mix of increased rights and obligations in practising their faith in the central European country.
But the law has generated opposition from several quarters, including Austrian Muslim groups that call it "discrimination" that imposes restrictions on Islam that other religions aren't saddled with.
Turkey's leading Muslim cleric, Mehmet Gormez, has decried the bill as "a 100-year regression," arguing that no complaints have ever been lodged about the fact that Turkey funds many imams in Austria.
Austria's far-right Freedom Party, meantime, mocked the bill as a "placebo" at a time when estimates suggest around 200 people from Austria -- including women and minors -- have gone to Syria and Iraq to join jihadist militias like Islamic Front.
The two-year-old bill passed by parliament Wednesday predates the recent jihadist violence in France and Denmark, but is designed to "clearly combat" the growing influence of radical Islam, Kurz said.
The new law will be studied by Austria's neighbours.
Earlier this month French Prime Minister Manuel Valls raised the notion of banning foreign funding of Islamic organisations. Kurz says officials in Germany and Switzerland have also expressed interest in the legislation.
-'Examples for young Muslims' -
To combat the rising risk of radical indoctrination of foreign origin, the new legislation bans Islamic cultural organisations and imams in Austria from receiving funding from abroad.
It also requires the nearly 450 Muslim organisations in the country to demonstrate a "positive approach towards society and the state" in order to continue receiving official licensing.
Imams will be obliged to be able to speak German under the law -- a bid to make their comments more accessible and transparent, while also facilitating the fuller integration of Islam into wider Austrian society.
"We want a future in which increasing numbers of imams have grown up in Austria speaking German, and can in that way serve as positive examples for young Muslims," Kurz explained ahead of the vote.
The legislation also provides for Muslims to be able to consult Islamic clerics on the staffs of hospitals, retirement homes, prisons and in the armed forces.
Muslims in Austria will also have the right to halal meals in those institutions as well as in public schools, and will be allowed to skip work on Islamic holidays.
Austria's previous "law on Islam" dates from 1912, after the annexation of Bosnia-Herzegovina by the Austro-Hungarian empire.
The adopted text scaled back farther-reaching measures contained in an earlier version, including the imposition of an "official" Koran in German that had sparked considerable controversy.
A poll published by the OGM institute Tuesday found 58 percent of Austrians feeling radicalisation of the nation's Muslims was underway.
Muslims make up roughly 560,000 of Austria's total population of 8.5 million. Most Austrian Muslims are of Turkish and Bosnian origin, as well as ethnic Chechens and Iranians.

Achieving the Perfect Selfie

By Larry "The Blackspot" Hester
Anyone who’s tried to take a decent photo with an iPhone knows the drill: tap the app and wait longer than usual for it to open, fiddle around with the settings to make sure the flash is activated, awkwardly hold the phone (along with your breath) and finally, repeatedly tap the screen to take the shot. If luck is on your side, you’ll have a photo that doesn’t look like a typical Bigfoot sighting.

The Snappgrip is a device that aims to take all that fuss out of shooting iPhone pics. It’s a phone case that gives users an added benefit of physical buttons so there’s no need to struggle with the on-screen functions. Taking a photo, shooting video, zooming, toggling the flash and switching between landscape and portrait modes are all handled by the Snappgrip.

The button layout on the Snappgrip is just like any other camera. There’s a dial to switch modes and a shutter button for zooming and taking shots. The device is super light and curved perfectly for comfort. What’s even cooler is that the button and dial section detaches, leaving you with a phone case. That’s a sure plus for those who hate having to take their phone out of the case just to put on an accessory.

The Snappgrip is available now at the bitemyapple.co website for $70. You also get a tripod mount (for the truly obsessed iPhone photographer), wrist strap, charging cable and carrying case (that you’d probably never use anyway). As far as colors, your choice is only between the obligatory black or white, but who cares? It makes creating the next Instagram buzz a lot easier.

Could a Kanye West video game rival Kim Kardashian's?

Kanye West is working on a video game. You read that right. The rap star, who’s branched out into other fields like fashion, is now developing a video game.

West dropped the news in a radio interview with “The Breakfast Club” where he was discussing his new song with Paul McCartney, “Only One.” The song is about his late mother, Donda West, who died following a surgical procedure in 2007.

The video game will feature his mother trying to get to heaven. Little is known about the game other than that. Yahoo Finance reached out to Glu Mobile (GLUU), the app developer behind Kim Kardashian West’s successful app “Hollywood,” to find out if they were working with West but did not hear back.
But West’s revelation got us thinking about all of the other successful stars who’ve tried their hand at games.

Kim Kardashian

West may have been inspired by the success of his wife, Kim Kardashian. She’s one of the most recent high profile celebrities to get into the world of games. She released an app “Hollywood” that has users try and gain fans and work their way into the A list.

Early estimates said the app was wildly successful and set to make $200 million. It hasn’t been quite that blockbuster yet; the app earned $45 million in the third quarter of 2014. But it’s still a big win for Kardashian – she takes home 45% of revenue.

Katy Perry
Glu Mobile has also tapped Katy Perry for a video game. The game was announced just days after Perry performed the half-time show at this year’s Super Bowl. There are no details about the game yet, but it’s safe to say it will encompass Perry’s unique style, one that’s famous for including cotton candy and other confections.

This isn’t Perry’s first foray into games; Sims created a Katy Perry game: The Sweet Treat. The game allowed players to “Sweeten your Sims' lives with delicious, Katy Perry-inspired items from a cupcake-themed guitar and candy playground equipment, to luscious cotton candy trees” for just $24.99.
Kate Upton
Supermodel Kate Upton is taking a different approach to the gaming world. Instead of launching her own game, she’s signed on to become the face of “Game of War: Fire Age,” developed by a fairly unknown app-maker Machine Zone.
Like Perry, Upton made a splash during the Super Bowl when she appeared in an ad for the game (price tag: $4.5 million). Upton appears in the game as well, offering users paid upgrades and often wearing sultry period costumes. She even spends some time in a bathtub, though we’re sure it’s for plot purposes.
Details of Upton’s pay package are confidential, but we know the company has set aside $40 millionto advertise the game, an earmark that’s believed to include Upton’s salary.

Oscar-winner Kevin Spacey stars in Activision's Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Image via Call of Duty.
Kevin Spacey
Lest you think starring in a video game is a lady’s game, you’d do well to remember Kevin Spacey. He’s the star of “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.” Unlike some of the above games that are newer developments for mobile, Activision's (ATVI) Call of Duty is kind of like the Godfather of games. It’s holds the Guinness World Record for " best-selling first-person shooter videogame series." It’s also won numerous fan polls.

In 2014, Spacey signed on to the game’s latest iteration, playing a private military contractor with dreams of world domination. He took the challenge of acting in a video game seriously, commenting in a New York Times profile about the potential he sees in the craft.

Again, details about Spacey’s pay don’t exist, but Call of Duty has topped $1 billion in sales for about the past five years so chances are he’s not doing the game just for the sake of the art.

Other Stars

If West does make a game, he will join a long list of other stars. In addition to those profiled above, many other musicians and actors have played in the gaming space (pun intended.) Lindsay Lohan's answer to Kardashian was largely panned as being overly simplistic at best. In 2002, Britney Spears released a video game “Dance Beat.” Before that, Mark “Marky Mark” Wahlberg partnered with Sega on “Make My Video.” Even the Beatles had their own version of “Rock Band.” On the acting side, Jack Black became enough of a video game star that he was part of a 2009 lawsuit between Activision and Electronic Arts (EA) over the development of a game he starred in.
